Instant Hit

Canned: 5/22/26

For our 10th anniversary, we knew we had to make a beer with our friends at Bizarre Brewing, and it just seemed natural to make an English ale. Believe it or not, neither of our breweries had made an English Pale Ale, despite our mutual love affair with sessionable British pub beers. Until now. And it’s surely an instant hit (as foretold by London punk band The Slits).

This pale ale was brewed with a split base of Linc’s Baronesse English Pale malt and Simpson’s Golden Promise, with modest additions of naked oats and light crystal malt. It was bittered with East Kent Golding, followed by late boil and whirlpool additions of Brewer’s Gold and Harlequin. We then fermented it with Bizarre’s house pub ale strain before dry-hopping with more Brewer’s Gold and Harlequin.

The malt character is rich and full with bready, crusty, and subtle caramel notes. The hop character is fascinatingly dynamic with a somewhat dank OG aroma that transitions seamlessly into flavors of lemon rind, herbal tea, and an assertive orange marmalade character. It pours a beautifully rich golden hue, with an assertive bitterness to cut through the malt. As the song goes: “Just try it. Enjoy it.”
